Meet Taylor, Our January Instructor of the Month!

1. How did you first come to join Fit4Mom?

I joined Fit4Mom when we moved to Chapel Hill from Boston in the summer of 2021. My first son, Davis, was 3 months old, and I didn't know anybody in Chapel Hill. I forget how I first found out about it, but I couldn't believe such a brilliant concept existed! Getting to exercise WITH your little one while also meeting other moms in the area - best of all worlds!

2. How long / what classes do you teach?

I quickly fell in love with all things Stroller Strides and started teaching by March 2022. A little less than a year later, I started teaching Stroller Barre, which has been such a fun addition.

3. What do you love the most about being part of the Fit4Mom Community?

I love too many things about it! First and foremost, I love the people: the other moms who know what it's like to be having "one of those days" and the other babies and kiddos that sing along to the songs or want to pop the bubbles while teaching. I love how Davis knows our exact routes because he has been a Stroller Strides baby his whole life. I love that he looks forward to it and screams "Stroller Strides!" when we pass Southern Village in the car. And I love that he sees me and other moms prioritizing our own health and wellness, in hopes that he will see the value in it for himself as he gets older.

4. What would you say to someone who is hesitant to check out our classes?

We want to meet you! I remember worrying about how my child might act/react in the stroller, but truly anything goes. You can feed them, they can cry, you can go at your own pace, and nobody cares! We are all just trying to get out of the house to see other people, and knowing there is a group of moms there hoping you will join them is the best.

5. Describe yourself in three words.

Optimistic, steady & (mostly!) cheerful

6. Biggest "guilty pleasure"?

A glass of wine and a charcuterie board

7. I'm happiest when...

I'm outside on a beautiful day with my family, maybe checking out a new park or restaurant.

8. One more interesting fact we don't know about you.

My husband and I love to travel, and even though it seems to be on hold for a little while with little kids, we would love to go to Japan as soon as the opportunity arises!
