Where are you from originally?
I’m originally from Kristiansund in Norway, and moved from Tromsoe to Chapel Hill in april 2024 with my husband, Eirik.
When did you join FIT4MOM
I joined FIT4MOM in December, when my son Henrik was 4 months old.
What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM?
Being part of an inclusive community of other moms who have the same priorities of maintaining an active and healthy life.
What do you currently do?
I am currently on maternity leave from my job as an architect. Me and Henrik are enjoying our time together in Southern Village before I go back to work in May.
Share your thoughts on the concept of“it takes a village” – is it important for moms to join a village?
Yes! The form of the village can be so many things, spanning from a close inner circle to the wider village of people you don’t really know, but see on a regular basis. I think it is important for moms to be able to connect and get support from someone who knows what we are going through, and that we can share our different experiences.
What is your favorite beverage?
Coffee in any form - black, lattes, cortado or espresso. In recent years I have become fond of sour beer!
What is your favorite dessert?
Lemon tarts, or strawberries with heavy cream and sugar.
You are given 4 hours of FREE baby-sitting. What would you do?
I would go to dinner and the movies with my husband, something we have enjoyed doing regularly since we started dating 10 years ago
What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination?
Athens - so many interesting historic sites, wonderful food and drink, and cats on every corner!
How has becoming a mother changed you?
I am still like myself before I had kids, just now + 1 baby. But I have changed my priorities. The close things are more important and I appreciate the small day to day routines in a different way. I also have bigger appreciation of interaction with other adults!
I am happiest when...
I am with my family, and have had the opportunity to move and be outside.
