Meet Jenn, Our May Mama of the Month

1. Where are you from originally?

When did you join FIT4MOM?l !!! (If you know, you know. )

2. When did you join FIT4MOM?

I joined while I was a caregiver for families with children in 2024.

3. What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM?

Hands down, my favorite thing about FIT4MOM is the unity and acceptance shared amongst the group.

4. What do you currently do?

Currently, I'm the CEO of Stella Incorporated. A sweet little entity established in 2018. Now that she's up and running, I'm in the market for gainful employment in a company doing great things for humanity.

A.K.A - single, unemployed, mom.

5. Share your thoughts on the concept of “it takes a village” – is it important for moms to join a village?

I believe it is imperative for moms to join a village. For me, personally, I find myself isolated with a young child. Without an adult to talk through the hanging points of your days. A woman certainly develops fortitude in such scenarios. Having a tribe of sisters walking the Mama path together can bridge that gap that leaves some of us feeling empty and unimportant. Humans are tribal by nature. We are not meant to do it alone. The mental stimulation from like minds in a village offers opportunity for inspiration. Ignites courage and revives endurance. In a village, you are not alone. There's the help and encouragement of healthy family.

6. What is your favorite beverage?

I love sweet tea! I'd drink it in place of water if that were a good idea.

7. What is your favorite dessert?

Pecan pie with a cup of whole milk in a frosted glass is my favorite dessert.

8. You are given 4 hours to yourself, what would you do?

Is that four hours AND excess dollars to spend??? My answer today is, I'd book a spa day and treat myself to a full body wax, salt scrub, and massage. I'd spend all 4 hours in a robe, being pampered, drinking wine, eating fancy snacks and not thinking about real life.

9. What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination?

Backpacking in Peru would be my ultimate, child free, vacation.

10. How did becoming a mother change you?

Oh, lord! This answer reveals my depth of character. I was told by physicians I'd not be able to have children. So, I lived my life accordingly, as a freewheeling hippie. Traveling cross country, living "home-free" and embracing whatever adventure came my way. Just before my fortieth birthday, I discovered I was pregnant. It was the ultimate surprise! My spirit shifted immediately. Suddenly it mattered that I take care of myself. That I think past today and establish roots to thrive. In becoming a mother, I became a woman. My childish ways turned into tools for raising a child, well. Life evolved into something more beautiful than I'd ever known. "Motherhood, the best hood to live in. "

11. I am happiest when.

I am happiest when my daughter and I are fully engaged in an outdoor activity together. There's a lot to handle as a single mama. I truly can't play every time my girl requests. So, when our free time lines up, that makes my heart happy.
