Running for Beginners: 5-Mile Training Program

Do you ever dream of making it across the finish line, but don't know how to get started? Do you need help staying motivated to run? Are you looking to get stronger and fitter? Then join our Running for Beginners program! We start gradually and build up to 5 miles! You'll learn effective running form, breathing techniques, fueling for longer runs, best practices for injury prevention, and more. Weekly training emails will keep you motivated, progressing towards your goals, and learning key running tips.

Gradually increase your mileage with our group runs on Sundays at 8:00a meeting at Wilson Park in Carrboro. Check out our Balanced Runner Membership to train smart and safely. Your complete 8-week training program will be provided by your run coach. Strollers are welcome to training runs, but may not be permitted for your race. *Save $25 with your active monthly membership or as a returning racer!
