Leigh Wilfley

Instructor, FIT4MOM® Chapel Hill

Leigh is a North Carolina native and has made Chapel Hill her home for the last dozen years. She attended the University of North Carolina receiving a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Carolina's medical school, and a postdoctoral fellowship in leadership education for healthcare providers through the Maternal & Child Health Bureau. Leigh works as a Women’s Health Physical Therapist for the Duke Medical System at the local Chapel Hill office in Meadowmont. She brings to FIT4MOM Chapel Hill a wealth of knowledge regarding prenatal and postpartum fitness, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation, and physical training for female athletes. Originally looking for a fitness resource in the community for her patients, Leigh fell in love with Stroller Strides and began regularly attending classes with her sweet daughter Ava. Now in her role as an instructor, Leigh hopes to inspire other moms and help them to build the friendships and fitness like she's enjoyed while being a part of the Fit4Mom Chapel Hill classes! Since joining the Fit4Mom Chapel Hill Team, Leigh helped launch our Fit4Baby prenatal fitness and wellness program which has been a part of dozens of healthy pregnancies as well as her own with newborn son Carter!

Leigh believes that a healthy family begins with a healthy mama. She and husband Ross are natural athletes and look forward to raising a fit family. Leigh loves that her children have fun with mom at Stroller Strides and will grow up with a positive concept of what it means to be strong like mom!

Certifications: Prenatal and Postnatal Instructor for Stroller Strides® & Fit4Baby®, Doctorate of Physical Therapy licensed in North Carolina, American Red Cross First Aid, Adult, Child and Infant CPR and Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
