Caroline Dilworth

Instructor, FIT4MOM® Chapel Hill

Originally from South Carolina, Caroline moved to Chapel Hill in 2003 to pursue a doctoral degree in public health (Epidemiology) from the University of North Carolina, where she studied the impact of environmental exposures on pregnancy outcomes. She completed her Ph.D. in 2007 and became a Program Director for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) overseeing research funding programs on health issues ranging from cancer to cardiovascular disease to pregnancy health.

After the birth of her son Nathan in 2010 and daughter Brooke in 2013, Caroline decided to transition her career in order to have a more direct, immediate impact on peoples’ well-being. She pursued her passion for helping fellow moms prioritize their own self-care needs and became an Integrative Health Coach. She founded Thrive Integrative Wellness Coaching and is currently completing advanced coaching certification through Duke Integrative Medicine. She is also a Board Member and volunteer with Postpartum Education and Support, NC, a local non-profit that supports moms experiencing postpartum mood disorders.

Caroline firmly believes that prioritizing our own health needs not only makes us healthier but also gives us the energy and resiliency to be our best selves for family, friends, work and our community. She has always enjoyed group fitness classes and was initially drawn to the FIT4MOM Body Back program as a way to meet other like-minded moms. The program’s combination of challenging workouts, nutritional support and an amazing group of mammas was even more special than she ever imagined. She loves combining her health coaching expertise with her personal passion for fitness as a Body Back instructor!
